Message-ID: <9AF43E4C-C775-4861-A7E1-27D75075DC72@agrip.org.uk> I'm afraid that I was not able to convince anyone else to host the lists, so tomorrow this will cease to exist, for now at least. I hope that we can get together as a community again in the not-too-distant future but for now I simply wish you luck and maybe see you in some of the other AG communities. Thanks for your support. I have enjoyed working with you; shame real life got in the way at times! best regards, -- Matthew Tylee Atkinson http://mta.agrip.org.uk/ From mta at agrip.org.uk Thu Jan 22 20:35:00 2009 From: mta at agrip.org.uk (Matthew Tylee Atkinson) Date: Thu, 22 Jan 2009 20:35:00 +0000 Subject: [AGDev-newbies] [AGDev-discuss] Good-bye (for now)! I suspect that some members will wish to move to IGDA's mailing lists -- this would be a great outcome. The problem is that I have failed, due to IRL issues, to properly promote AGDev and our key members have been extremely busy of late. We decided that it would be better to subsume AGDev into other AG- related organisations for now (and for those that do have time to continue in the AG community). There are now a lot of AG community sites, not so many for developers, specifically developers of AG for blind and vision-impaired games. We felt that pooling members and resources would be better for the AG community. Should this situation change when I have got over my IRL matters and people are willing to contribute there's nothing to stop us from picking it up again. I could renew the domain but as I am unable to do anything with it, this would just be parking it and that means nobody else could pick it up and do anything with it. I'm very proud of what we managed to achieve in the early days and of the contacts we've formed with groups such as IGDA. I think that if those members who still have time and are working in the AG arena can make use of those contacts to find different and more active venues for discussion then we'll have made something of a difference. The pooling of technology never really came through due to lack of time, but maybe in the future we can address this goal. > I'm sorry I've missed all the messages -- I had surgery and radiation > treatment over the last month and a half and I'm soooo behind! Absolutely no problem! I wish you the very best of luck for your recovery. bye just now, take care, -- Matthew Tylee Atkinson http://mta.agrip.org.uk/ From mta at agrip.org.uk Thu Jan 22 23:07:32 2009 From: mta at agrip.org.uk (Matthew Tylee Atkinson) Date: Thu, 22 Jan 2009 23:07:32 +0000 Subject: [AGDev-newbies] [AGDev-discuss] Good-bye (for now)!
